Does anyone know what offices are up for election in November?

Are there any local seats, i.e. school board, city council, county commissioner, etc. up for relection?

The school board members whose terms expire this year are Joe Benko, Dan Buresh, Jim Donna, and Deb Pauly.

We don't know if there will be a school referendum yet. The school board has not decided for how much money it will ask, if it does run a referendum.

There are no expiring terms for local state legislators or city councilmembers in Jordan.

No county commissioners' terms expire until Jerry Hennen, Jon Ulrich, and Joe Wagner in 2010.

I have yet to check on whether there are township elections this year.

Of course, the race for the Republican nomination for governor includes a couple of people from nearby -- state reps. Laura Brod of New Prague and Paul Kohls of Victoria.

No township elections this year, either.

The council terms held by Jeremy Goebel, David Hanson, and Jeanne Marnoff expire next.

State sens. Claire Robling and Julianne Ortman were elected to serve four-year terms. Sen. Kevin Dahle was elected to filling the remainder of Sen. Thomas Neuville's term, which expires after 2010, at the same time as Robling's and Ortman's.

State reps. David Bly, Mark Buesgens, and Paul Kohls were elected to serve two-year terms that expire after 2010.

The school board will be asking for a referendum this fall. After the 2008 referendum failed, the school board decided it was going to ask the voters to pass a levy in 2009.

Sorry about that. My mistake. So we just don't know how much they are going to ask for?
