Local baseball teams are entering the playoffs. Which do you think is the team to watch? The Jordan Brewers? The St. Benedict Saints? The Jordan Legion? The Millers and the Alers?
Congratulations again to the Jordan Legion team, which won its division against a tough Le Sueur team. The state playoffs begin Saturday in Cannon Falls.

Matthias,
Its not the state tournament this weekend. Its the District 3 Legion Playoffs. The champion of that eight team, double elimination tournament goes on to state in Sacred Heart, Minn.
Its very confusing with all the tournaments. First, they play a league tournament, than a district tournament, than the state tournament. If they finish in the top two at state they go to regionals and from their the national tournament. Very hard to keep track of each step of the way.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Division II Legion baseball (Jordan's division) does not have a national tournament. The regional tournament is as far as they can go.
You are correct that Division II does not have a national world series. According to Legion coach Ron Beckman, Division II only has a Midwest Regional and many in Division II consider that their "national tournament"
In last year's tournament, there were teams from Las Vegas and Kansas City, giving it a more national feel. The KC team was great, especially their star player. They gave the Jordan team a run for its money. The Las Vegas team was out quickly, but the players seemed to be having a good time hanging around for the end of the tourney in small-town Beulah, N.D.
