Read and respond to this Coleman for Senate Statement on the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party's Al Franken endorsement:
Coleman for Senate Campaign Manager Cullen Sheehan made the following statement today following the Minnesota DFL endorsement of Al Franken:
"On the first ballot, the DFL Party endorsed a candidate who stands outside the mainstream of the state he wants to represent. From (inappropriate) jokes about (women), to a commitment to raise gas taxes on hardworking Minnesotans, to a commitment to sitting down and negotiating with terrorist groups like Hamas, Al Franken has shown he lacks the judgment to serve in the United States Senate. In a day and age when we need less partisanship, not more, and where we need people who can work across party lines to get things done, Al Franken is simply more fuel on the partisan fire burning in Washington. We look forward to a campaign where there are clear choices -- a choice between Norm Coleman, who has a 30-year record of bringing people together to get things done for Minnesota, and Al Franken's 30-year record of driving people apart."

Saying Franken has a 30-year...
Back to page topSaying Franken has a 30-year record of driving people apart may be a bit of a stretch, but I’d expect nothing less from a political press release. I’d much rather see in the release with some clear examples of Coleman’s work rather than an attempt to smear Franken.
And that's not a comment on this specific race or any other. I'd just much prefer a campaign built on facts than one built on negative jabs.
