We need more in the Legislature and in Congress with the Common Sense of Rep. Buesgens. Until that happens he is right there will be nothing more than a continual assault on our freedoms, liberties, and checkbooks all in the name of bigger government and tax and spend. Wake up taxpayers and families before its too late! Good email Mark and right on!

Is it any surpeize that

Is it any surpeize that Minnesota2020 a DFL front group of former minority Matt Entenzza to come out with some ludicrous report that Minnesota is tens of billions in need of funding. If this was truly non-partisan then maybe they should have looked at the road funding that is getting siphoned off for transit projects. Remember the MVST fiasco? How about the ten/hundreds of millions wasted on transit boondoggles?

I can take any single issue and claim the state needs billions and then what is next? Of course you know what is next...... more and more taxes, and fees, and surcharges and ways for you the taxpayer to pay for their wishlist. Not the commonsense wishlist....their wishlist. Dont be fooled for a second that this worhtless think tank is nothing other than a research and policy set up for Entenzza and others to go and blackmail the general public with their nonsense.

We waste hundreds of millions of transportation dollas in Minnesota and billions nationwide. When it takes 8-10 MNDOT trucks with many workers sitting around while one boom truck changes lights on freeways tell me we are not wasting $$$$. Everyone of us probably has an example of the waste in funding or the shortcuts that we have seen that in the end actually cost more money.

Whats next from Entenzzas group????? Billions more for education, billions more for environment? Billions more for global warming???? Same old tax and spend, tax and spend just not it uses a think tank as the mouthpiece!

I don’t think the library

I don’t think the library classifies as a historic building, but I do think anywhere would be a good place to start.

I once heard in passing a quote that I know to be quite truthful… “It takes money to make money”. If we who live in this town would like to expand our horizons, we will need to invest in our future. I think one good way of investing in the future is to reflect on the past both in learning from follies as well as success. We already have numerous antique shops that could only benefit from a museum’s influence and vice versa.

It also could not hurt to have a place that would bring in visitors who in turn spend in the area or see our town as a nice place to live.

Money is probably the major

Money is probably the major hangup. Could the library building serve as a museum if a new one was constructed? To be clear -- that is not a fact of a where it might go, just a question.

Gaborik has actually played

Gaborik has actually played more than Martin Havlat, whose career has basically paralleled Gaborik's. They started in juniors in 1997-1998 and in the NHL in 2000-2001. Havlat has 169 goals to Gaborik's 219 and 396 points to Gabby's 437. Yeah, it appears Havlat, like Gabby, has had a year -- probably two -- greatly hampered by injuries.

For more on Havlat, go to http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8467899.

To compare Gabby's stats, go to http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8468483.

The story about Gabby leaving is here: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=433167.

Ron Jabs served Jordan well

Ron Jabs served Jordan well and earned the recognition that he has received, regardless of the past election's outcome.Honoring Ron does not show a lack of support for the current mayor or anyone else,it is just recognizing a job well done.

I'm not bummed at all. But I sure hope the Wild can find someone to scores goals. Let us remember, Gaborik hasn't really been the goal-scoring powerhouse he could have been for the Wild since he spent so much time on the injured list.

Don't know much about this Havlat guy, but I heard whisperings of him being injury-proned. Like we haven't been there, done that before.

Plus One on Pekarna's hot dogs.

Still, my favorite is any hot dog at a ballgame, as long as the dog is actually hot. For me, hot dogs, popcorn, and baseball are God's gift to America. Nirvana is when the ballpark concession stand has diced onions and mustard.

Most who know me would consider me to be close to a vegetarian. I do not like meat, but know that it needs to be in our diet.

I can not resist a hot dog from Pekarna’s and I even become somewhat of a carnivore when the “Karna’s are making the steaks at the fireman’s thing.

WHAT”S IN THAT STUFF YOU GUYS?

I also can not wait for fall when they stoke up the smoker…

We, humans became so into

We, humans became so into innovation that we forgot our useless trash at the side that makes clutter to our environment. That is why some explorers set out on journeys to discover things about other people and other places, and Karen Hawes is just that sort. Karen Hawes is going on a different sort of journey, though – she is going on a trip to look at other people's useless junk, and she's described as a trashtronaut. Her journey is detailed at www.trashtrip.com. Her trip will take her from Alaska to Argentina – it would take most people a hefty cash advance to go – looking at people into junk collecting and processes of waste disposal. One man's trash is another's treasure, it's said, and it appears that Karen Hawes is one to brave payday loans and landfills to see what treasures we've left behind.

First, to play professional baseball. Second, to write stories. I achieved the second goal immediately, whenever I could. And, of course, the first dream ended. Oh well. I don't think I'd like the life of a pro ballplayer anyway.
