To celebrate the July 4th holiday, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community invites the public to a free fireworks display at 10 p.m. Friday, July 4. For the 14th year in a row, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is sponsoring an elaborate fireworks display at their pow wow grounds in Shakopee.
The Pow Wow Grounds are located on Dakotah Parkway, just south of County Road 42 between County Road 83 and County Road 17.
The fireworks will go on, rain or shine, unless there is severe weather. The display is put on by the SMSC Public Works Department.

The Jordan High School cheerleaders will be washing cars to raise funds for the cheerleading program this weekend, said coach Dannica Erickson. One car wash costs $5.
The fund-raiser will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Radermacher's Fresh Market, 500 W. Second St. in Jordan.

Bob Lau’s vineyard is well situated in Blue Earth County to demonstrate the first three years of vineyard establishment in Southern Minnesota. Bob has planted all University of Minnesota, cold-hardy varieties and will market to the growing Minnesota wine industry beginning this year. As we walk from 1st year vines to 3rd year vines, U of M Vineyard Manager, John Thull, will dis-cuss the various aspects of establishment including variety selection and management strategies. Bob Lau will share his unique perspective as a grape grower in Blue Earth County. Join us for this exciting afternoon!
