Students at St. John the Baptist Catholic School spent most of their Wednesday morning working at the school and around Jordan. The students were cleaning the church, visiting with residents of the Schule Haus, and raking yards as part of their annual Marathon fund-raiser.

The morning started with a prayer and song service led by music teacher Hans Peterson.

Parents were helping with the project, too. Jodi Worm (left) helped hand out rakes and worked alongside one of the traveling student teams.

Molly Huss (left) and Madalyn Schmidt were two of the rakers walking from house to house in Jordan. The students raked the yards of residents who signed up with St. John’s church.

Kindergarten and first-grade students sang and recited poetry to residents of the Schule Haus. The students, including Grace Gaffney (below) visited three different floors to make sure everyone had a chance to hear them sing.
