Katrina Styx reports:
Sgt. Tom Stolee of the Jordan Police Department was one of three candidates the city of Belle Plaine was considering for its new chief of police.
The Belle Plaine City Council held a workshop last Thursday to decide which of the three candidates they would hire, but the name will not be official until its Nov. 17 meeting, according to the Belle Plaine Herald. Stolee was notified personally that the city selected one of the other applicants.
Stolee said he’s a little disappointed, but that won’t affect his work here in Jordan.
Stolee, a resident of Belle Plaine, was the only candidate from the area.

Back to page topAs a resident of Belle plaine I was very Disappointed to hear this. While I'm sure the city has it's reasons, I would have liked to see a resident, with local experience in the position. I hope that Sgt. Stolee is not too disappointed as I'm sure he is very much appreciated by Jordan residents and fellow officers.
