Buesgens has a challenger; others file for election

On the first day of the filing period yesterday, several candidates entered bids for election or re-election.

Taylor Kristoffe-Jones, DFL-Savage, will run again for the Minnesota House of Representatives District 35B seat held by state Rep. Mark Buesgens, R-Jordan. Kristoffe-Jones lost to Buesgens in the election two years ago.

State Rep. David Bly, DFL-Northfield, is vying to be re-elected to represent House District 25B, which includes Helena Township. He has served one two-year term in office.

Bob Vogel announced his intention not to run for re-election to the Scott County Board. He is the chairman. Tom Wolf of Savage filed in Commissioner District 2, which includes Spring Lake Township. Wolf lost to Vogel in the last election for that seat.

No candidates for three available Scott Soil and Water Conservation District seats were listed on the Web site for the Minnesota Secretary of State.
