Robert Jon Hillstrom
Robert “Bobber” Hillstrom, 68, of Pillager and formerly of Jordan, passed away late Tuesday afternoon Sept. 9, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at First Lutheran Church in Pillager. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Robert Jon Hillstrom was born Oct. 1, 1939 in Jordan, the son of Englof “Bud” and Blanche (Apland) Hillstrom. He grew up and attended school through junior high in Jordan. The family then moved to Robbinsdale and he graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1957. Following his schooling he served a tour of duty in the United States Coast Guard. On Dec. 14, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sandra Begin in Watertown, S.D. After their marriage the couple lived in Crystal, Minn. and he went to work for Northern States Power as a warehouseman. In 1986 he took an early retirement, after 27 years of service to NSP. In 2002 Bobber and Sandie moved to Pillager where they designed and built their new home. He loved being with his family and built in many special features to the house for his kids and grandkids. Taking care of Sandie was extremely important to him, being a loving husband, father, and grandBob gave him great joy. He had a unique sense of humor and touched the lives of everyone who met him. Among the things he enjoyed doing were woodworking, fishing, deer hunting, and camping with his family. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Brooklyn Park and the American Legion Post 511 of Crystal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Blanche; and brother, Charles. Bobber will be lovingly missed by his wife of 45 years, Sandie; children, Curtis of Columbia Heights, Mark of Ogilvie, Kimme (John) Engebretsen of Crystal, Cindi (Bill) Lindquist of Crystal; five grandchildren, Kristine, Kaetlyn, Hayley, Dixie, and Timothy; along with many good friends and neighbors.

Glorianna L. Dubbe
Glorianna Dubbe, 81, of Jordan, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at her home.
Glorianna was born Sept. 24, 1926 at Seavey, Minn. Her parents were Pastor John and Gloria (Berwald) Beck.
She is survived by husband, Roger Dubbe of Jordan, children, Trudy Joy and Pastor Joel Schmalz of Wausau, Wis., Norma Jean and Bill Kammerlohr of Springfield, Ill., Cheryl Ann and Clint Souligny of Portland, Ore., James Roger and Julie Dubbe of Jordan, Rodney Paul Dubbe of Elko and Kimberly Taylor, Ruth Marie and George Brandon of Dallas, Texas, favorite son, Steve Auchstetter; 20 grandchildren; great-grandchild of Rawlins, Wyo.; siblings, Johanna and Harlan Muehring of Tempe, Ariz., Dr. William and Geri Beck of Dana Point, Calif., Rosemary and Clifford Dietrich of Hickory, N.C., Wally and Betty Beck of Grand Island, Neb., Pastor John and Barbara Beck of Middletown, Conn., Lowell and Maxine Beck of Clearwater, Minn., Gloria and Robert Becker of Tampa, Fla.; nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a member of prayer and bible study groups. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Confirmation Class. Glorianna attended school at Concordia University, Seward, Neb., and Mankato State University. She graduated in nursing from Dakota County Vo-Tech and she was a substitute teacher at Jordan Public Schools. Glorianna enjoyed studying her bible, encouragement through correspondence, gardening, traveling, embroidery and sewing, communicating and caring for people.
Visitation was Friday, Sept. 12, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake, from 5-8 p.m. and also at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Fish Lake, Prior Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Harald Schoubye presiding. Interment at Fish Lake Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Richard E. Rau
Richard “Dick” Rau, 78, of Prior Lake, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at his home.

He was born March 1, 1930 to parents Arthur and Kathryn (O’Keefe) Rau in St. Cloud. He graduated in 1949 from Shakopee High School and served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1956. He enjoyed golf, sports and his grandchildren, Natalee, Amanda, Jacob and Elizabeth Chromy and Mitchell Krueger. He worked as an insurance broker for 50 years and was past president and 25 year member of the Prior Lake Lions Club. He was a lifetime member of the Prior Lake V.F.W. Post 6208. He married Joanne (Olson) Rau on Nov. 30, 1957. Together they had five children, Kelley (Dave) Chromy of Prior Lake, Kimberly of Sun City West, Ariz., Karen (Matt) Krueger of Longville, Jeffrey (deceased) and David of Waconia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Kathryn Rau; brothers, Ronald and Jerome Rau.
Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 4-7 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake, and also one hour prior the service at church. Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at Church of St. Michael, Prior Lake, with Father Sieg presiding. Pallbearers will be Dave Chromy, Matt Krueger, Natalee Chromy, Amanda Chromy, Jacob Chromy, Elizabeth Chromy. Final resting place will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Prior Lake.

Rose Mary Krauth
Rose Mary Krauth, 98, of Victoria, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 at Waconia Good Samaritan.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Sept. 17, at St. Victoria Catholic Church. Father Bob White was the Celebrant. Casketbearers were Ben Gregory, Don Gregory, Jon Hentges, Bob Hunter, Ken Hunter and Roger Leuthner. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Jordan.
Rose was born June 16, 1910 in Jordan, to Peter and Elizabeth (Schinstock) Gregory. She was one of six children. Rose was baptized and confirmed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School. On June 18, 1946, Rose married George H. Krauth at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. They had two daughters. Rose was born and raised in Jordan. She was a member of St. Victoria Catholic Church since 1979. She loved gardening, animals and also worked for Holasek Greenhouse.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Peter and Elizabeth Gregory; sister, Susan Sunder; brothers, Henry, Joseph, Fritz and Peter. Survivors include her daughters, Betty and Jean Krauth of Victoria; brother-in-law, Florian Krauth of Jordan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Pauly of Jordan; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
