Here's what's been going on in and around New Prague lately, according to the New Prague Times:
- An 1880s log cabin was moved from rural New Prague to Jackson Hole, Wyo., to become the front foyer of a home in a large housing development. Ray Moran sold the cabin, which was dismantled and then reconstructed out West.
- Anthony Klauseus of Belle Plaine pleaded guilty to second-degree
manslaughter for shooting his son while hunting wild turkeys. His
sentence is 30 days in jail and 10 years of probation.
- New Prague High School's class of 2012 has an added requirement for graduation -- biology.
- Mandy Sirek was crowned Miss Lonsdale.
- Pioneer Power took place in Le Sueur.
- The St. Patrick Irish and the Elko Express advanced to the state amateur baseball tournament.
- The Times published a six-page back-to-school special section with a bright yellow school bus ad featuring 18 business' ads, as well as bus safety tips and the names of the school district's bus and van drivers.
- The Times ran a fall sports preview special section.
