This morning, Tom Wolf of Savage was running on about two hours sleep
and rounding up campaign signs throughout Scott County Commissioner
District 2.
Wolf said his 6,190 to 4,992 vote win over Chris Olson was a
“pleasant surprise,” especially considering he won every precinct in
the district.
“I’m very humbled,” he said when asked how he felt about winning every precinct. “There are no words to describe that.”

Tom Wolf won the Scott County Commissioner District 2 seat on the county board by almost 11 percent.
He garnered 6,190 votes, while Chris Olson tallied 4,992. Wolf also took Olson's home precinct of Spring Lake Township by a 928-to-883 margin.

Although Democrat Barack Obama was the nation’s choice for
president, residents of Scott County would have preferred John McCain be
installed in the Oval Office as 55 percent of voters here cast their ballots for the
Republican ticket as opposed to 44 percent for Obama.
Voters returned unopposed incumbent Michael Borka and
incumbent Glenn Kelley to the Spring Lake Township Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
Borka earned 99 percnet of the vote; in the other race,
Kelley got 64 percent while challenger David Shumate got 35 percent.
Voters said no to an operating referendum for Jordan Public Schools by a vote of 2,687 to 1,791, a 20 percent margin.
- In Jordan Precinct 1, residents cast 810 votes against the question and 701 for it.
- In Jordan Precinct 2, residents cast 536 votes against the question and 445 for it.
- In Helena Township, residents cast 85 against the question and 39 for it.
- In St. Lawrence Township, residents cast 189 votes against the question and 85 for it.
- In Sand Creek Township, residents cast 501 votes against the question and 250 for it.
