- In New Prague's elections, former Mayor Craig S. Sindelar will face incumbent Mayor Bink Bender. Candidates for two New Prague City Council include Rob Babione, Mark Bartusek, Ken Betterton, Blake Bredeson, Kristin Guerrette, and Dick Jordan. Councilmembers Duane Jirik and Jim Kratochvil are not seeking re-election.

- St. Nicholas Church of Elko New Market celebrated 150 years of service.

- Radio Shack opened earlier this month in New Prague.
